MATCH REPORT: She move her body like a CYCLONE

Take me out to the ballgame!!

Baseball! America’s Pastime! The one thing that brings this country together! also a sport that this blog notably doesn’t cover because …it’s really really boring (no like, even more so than football) and it takes forever (even longer than football!). But one thing we can’t deny is, it do be a good time to hit up the baseball park, so hit it up we did thanks to an excellent promotion from the local single A team, the Brooklyn Cyclones!

I’ve said it before and I and I’ll say it again, no one works harder than women’s sports and minor league teams. They’re like PLEASE LIKE US and you know what, I do! We basically GOT PAID to go to a game all things considered : $49 tickets including game entry, 2h unlimited booze and brunch, trading cards (oh heck yeah you know these are gonna be worth millions in a few years) and HATS! plus we got vouchers for $2 off beers next door at the brewery. So inning one, I’m already vibing.

Another thing, Maimonedes Park (brooklyn baby) is gorgeous! It has a great view of the ocean and the theme park (which did make me a little nervous like… what if you’re on a roller coaster and you get hit by a homer….It could happen). It felt like I was on a beach vacation (complete with the hot sun BEAMING DOWN on me, but that shifted pretty soon into the game so it was ok).

Since we didn’t know much (or anything) about the Cyclones, we did research on the N train ride down to Coney Island and were surprised to find out that this was a high stakes game for the boys, who were neck -and -neck with division archerivals Hudson Valley Renegades (boo because Yankee affiliate, but awww for cutie raccoon mascots) and needed to win this game agains the Wilmington Blue Rocks (yes, like stones… no, I don’t get it either) to have a chance at making the playoffs. The crowd was hype ! or maybe just drunk off of the unlimited booze ! Who can say.

The Cyclones dominated the first few innings with many runs scored (including a home run!) and few allowed (total 4 by the end of the game). We were thus adequately entertained by both the game and Sandy the Cyclones seagull mascot (almost renamed after the Hurricane came through because it hit Coney Island p bad, but then they decided that they would reclaim the name) and his ADOPTED SON Peewee (I gotta know the backstory here, like, what??) who flew up to our box and complimented Ben’s Jordans (yeah, Sandy’s a sneakerhead)

All in all: a Cylcones win, a free hat, a great day out at the ballpark (where the drinking continued next door at the Coney Island Brewing company

me: it’s missing a y WAIT I GET IT

AND for those thinking damn I wish I knew about this sooner WELL GREAT LATE BREAKING NEWS, the Cyclones are HEADED TO THE PLAYOFFS BABY and you can see them (again, unlimited, all you can drink for 2h) starting TOMORROW!!! TPain said it best, they make me wanna do it all night long!! LET’S GO BROOKLYN!
